WILDCATS TAKE 2nd ANNUAL
TROY KITE CUP (photo) Jan. 17th 2009
In a district match between Kingwood Park HS and Humble HS, the Humble Wildcats came from behind to take the cup home!
Troy Kite, Humble ISD's Athletic Director, in an effort to promote wrestling in the district, conceived the idea of a tournament. It is hoped that with the addition of Summer Creek HS next year to the districts program, that high school wrestling will grow and become as big as baseball and or basketball.
I too hope to see this sport grow as big as it is in other parts of the country. With the implication of the Troy Kite Cup as the districts crown, Humble ISD has taken the big steps toward this goal.
